Description:
The festival features 200+ author appearances and book signings; 100+ exhibitors and booksellers; non-stop readings and panel discussions on eight stages; cooking demos by celebrity chefs; poetry readings and workshops; panel discussions; walking tours; storytellers and hands-on projects for kids; street theater; live music; and a delicious variety of food, beer and wine.
Dynamic, personal interaction between authors and festival-goers is the hallmark of this event. 2011 headline authors include Sherman Alexie, Pseudonymous Bosch, Eddie Brown, Common, Myla Goldberg, Laura Lippman, Roland S. Martin and Jacquie Hood Martin, Daisy Martinez, Sam McBratney, Aaron "Big Daddy" McCargo, Jr., Terry McMillan, Jacquelyn Mitchard, Erin Morgenstern, Kadir Nelson, Fr. Leo Patalinghug, Kimberla Lawson Roby, Tavis Smiley, Shirley Strawberry, Lisa Unger and Marcela Valladolid.
