What's New

The 19th annual Baltimore Book Festival will offer exciting new features for 2014!

Baltimore Book Festival Mobile App: FREE!

Filled with information including author bios and festival maps, the free Baltimore Book Festival mobile app offers the latest festival scoop and lets visitors connect with other festival-goers. The app is available for Apple and Android devices.

Charm City Comic Book Pavilion
The Charm City Comic Pavilion at the Baltimore Book Festival, sponsored by Third Eye Comics and Th3rd World Studios, is your own personal Comic Convention. Come and browse thousands of books and collectibles, stop and chat with professional comic book creators and game designers, then stay and participate in informative panels about all aspects of being a creative professional!

I Love the Pratt Photobooth
What's your Pratt story? Step into the Pratt Photobooth and share why you love the Pratt Library in a photo or short video. We'll share the best stories on social media and our blog throughout the Book festival. Can't make it to the Book festival this year? Share your own photo on Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook with the hashtag #IHeartPratt.

Book Arts at the Baltimore Book Festival
Book Arts at the festival will highlight artists, businesses and organizations whose work and craft (graphic design, illustration, printmaking, etc.), pertain to the bookmaking and book preserving arts. The Book Arts Gallery will be located inside The Walters Art Museum Sculpture Court. Entrance to the exhibition corridor is directly off of Charles Street, within the festival footprint.

Guided Exhibition Tours: Living by the Book: Monks, Nuns, and their Manuscripts
Today, medieval books are treated as works of art, untouchable treasures to be locked away in cabinets. Yet many were intended for regular use as vital components of everyday life for monks and nuns. Learn more about these medieval books, as Walter’s Art Museum docents guide you.
